J.J. Hancock is from Kennewick, Washington and is currently attending Washington State University.
He went to Kennewick High School and was a four year letterman in baseball. He was a three-time All-Conference first team selection while there and also participated in the Area Code Games with the Kansas City Royals.
Hancock has been with Washington State University all four of his collegiate seasons and has had a tremendous career for the Cougars. Over his first three years there, he appeared in 101 games with 73 starts, compiled a .280 batting average, 19 doubles, 36 RBI and 36 runs.
Currently amid his senior season at WSU, Hancock is hitting .299 with six doubles, 12 RBI and 14 runs scored.
With the Sweets in the summer of 2017, Hancock set the team record for highest batting average in a season by hitting .360 over 39 games. He also racked up 12 doubles, 22 RBI and 28 runs.
