A Seattle native, Rivera played collegiate baseball at Whitman College and Lewis-Clark State College, handling all four infield positions throughout his career. He previously suited up for the Sweets as a player and later joined the organization as an assistant coach. Rivera most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach at Seattle University, continuing to build his coaching résumé at the collegiate level.
“Borleske is one of the best stadiums in the region,” he said. “The new clubhouse is a game-changer, and as a baseball guy, I love the all-natural field.”
As he steps into his first season as head coach, Rivera’s focus centers on establishing a strong, developmental environment.
“First and foremost, I want to establish a winning culture,” Rivera said. “We’re here to get better. Every day whether you’re playing or not, you’re here to get better. Summer ball is a huge resource and if you treat it the right way, you can really build something for the players and the fans.”
This will be Rivera’s first season as Manager and third season of coaching in the West Coast League.
