Bio: Briar Cliff University hopeful Dimick Wood, of Boise, Idaho, and his family have experienced their share of the spotlight in the athletic arena. He played last summer for the Walla Walla Sweets after a spring’s worth of action at Walla Walla Community College.
Wood pitched five innings for the Sweets in 2018 and struck out eight in three mound appearances.
He played in 26 games last spring at Walla Walla Community College and hit .256 (21-for-82) with two home runs and 14 runs batted in.
Dimick’s parents participated in NCAA-level sports. His father Jeff played basketball at Division II Brigham Young University-Hawaii and his mother Bobette competed on BYU’s tennis team. His sister Emma is a high school lacrosse athlete.
Wood has also expressed fondness for his border collie Trudy. When away from the diamond, he’ll engage in golf, cars, hunting, fishing and camping.
