It would appear that Andrew Mosiello's family has a high degree of admiration for the Pacific-12 Conference. His parents - Matthew and Carrie, a teacher and social worker, respectively - attended the University of Utah - formally of the Mountain West Conference, his  brother Nick attends UCLA, and Andrew's future plans include gracing the campus of the University of Oregon and playing baseball at the four-year level like his dad did at U of U.

Andrew hit .357 this spring at Chaparral High School in 67 plate appearances (56 official). He collected 20 hits including four doubles, one triple, and one home run.

Mosiello was called upon for mound duty 10 times this spring and ended up with a 5-2 record and a 1.72 ERA. He fanned 40 in 36.2 innings and allowed just nine earned runs and 22 hits. Chaparral ended up 17-9 overall.

Perfect Game recently ranked him 48th among pitchers in California and 162nd overall.  He hit .279 with a pair of doubles, a triple, and five RBI's his junior year at Vista Murrieta High.

Mosiello's sophomore year ended with selection to the All-Southwestern League's second team. Andrew won six of seven decisions and notched four saves while compiling a 1.17 earned run average in 16 appearances. He struck out 50 over a stretch of 53.2 innings including 20 over 17.2 frames in his first six entries when he did not yield an earned run.

Perfect Game recognized Andrew, a three-year letterman at Vista Murrieta, as a Preseason Underclass All-American High Honorable Mention choice in 2018.  Andrew listed steak, chicken, pizza, and pasta as favorite foods and cited broccoli and tomatoes as foods he does not prefer. Mosiello said he can't do without his baseball glove and Playstation.
