Dom Cadiz and Kolby Solomon Earn All-WCL Second Team Honors for Sweets

Two Sweets Make Their All-WCL Debut Following The 2025 Season

WALLA WALLA, Washington — Walla Walla Sweets infielder Dom Cadiz and reliever Kolby Solomon were named to the All-West Coast League Second Team after standout 2025 seasons.

Cadiz, an incoming freshman at UCLA, did not take long to announce himself as one of the league’s most consistent hitters. After five games to settle in, Cadiz went 3-for-4 in his sixth appearance and launched what became a 17-game hitting streak, the longest by a Sweet this summer.

The 18-year-old proved to be more than just a power threat. His nine home runs led Walla Walla and ranked fourth in the WCL, but he also finished with a team-best .345 batting average, a 1.082 OPS, and more walks (25) than strikeouts (21). His consistency stood out over the course of the summer, as he appeared in 42 of the 44 games he suited up for, including a stretch of 35 straight in the heart of the schedule.

While Cadiz spent most of his time at first base, he also appeared regularly at third base, served as designated hitter, and made a few starts in right field. His strong campaign earned him a 15th-round draft selection by the Milwaukee Brewers and a spot in the WCL All-Star Game, a fitting capstone to a breakout summer.

From a young buck to a veteran, Kolby Solomon closed his four-year Sweets career with his first all-league selection. The Lewis-Clark State rising senior anchored the Sweets’ bullpen, finishing with a 1.10 earned run average over 16 innings, the best mark among Walla Walla pitchers with at least 10 innings.

Solomon allowed just one home run all season, holding opposing hitters to a .234 batting average. He notched five saves and 20 strikeouts while issuing 11 walks, and he finished his summer with five consecutive scoreless outings.

Solomon, the longest-tenured member of the current roster, departs Walla Walla with a prolific four-year career now capped by all-league recognition.

The Sweets will return to Borleske Stadium in 2026. Offseason updates will be posted on the team’s official website and social media channels.
