Cadiz, Kern, and Geile to represent Walla Walla in WCL All Star Game on July 16
WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Three Walla Walla Sweets position players have been named West Coast League All-Stars, the league announced Tuesday morning. Dominic Cadiz, Tanner Kern, and Gunner Geile will represent the Sweets at the WCL All-Star Game next Wednesday, July 16 in Bellingham, Wash.

It marks the second straight year the Sweets will send three players to the midsummer event.
Cadiz, an incoming freshman at UCLA, has been one of the league’s premier offensive performers this summer.
The first and third baseman enters the final week before the break leading the WCL with a .404 batting average while also ranking third in home runs (7) and pacing the Sweets with 24 RBIs. Cadiz has hit safely in 23 of his 27 games played and earlier this season strung together an 18-game hitting streak — which came to an end due to a lightning and rain cancellation in Bend. He carries a .495 on-base percentage, a .723 slugging mark, and a 1.218 OPS into the week.
Joining him is first baseman Tanner Kern, who opened the season on a tear and has remained one of Walla Walla’s most reliable bats.
The left-handed hitter owns a .325 average with three home runs and 12 RBIs over just under 90 at-bats. Kern was named WCL Player of the Week in the opening stretch of the season and has since drawn 20 walks, ranking third on the team in both home runs and walks. His slash line stands at .452 OBP, .530 SLG, and a .982 OPS.
Outfielder Gunner Geile rounds out the Sweets’ all-star selections after making a major impact in limited action.
The Arizona Wildcat has appeared in just eight games but already tallied eight RBIs and six extra-base hits, including two home runs. Remarkably, every hit Geile has recorded has gone for extra bases. His signature performance came against Bend on July 1, when he finished a single shy of the cycle with a walk. Geile enters the week batting .222 with a .333 OBP, .630 slugging percentage, and a .963 OPS.
The Sweets have one week remaining before the All-Star break, beginning a three-game road series against Cowlitz Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. Walla Walla will then return home for a three-game set against the Corvallis Knights. Road games are available on the Walla Walla Sweets Mixlr channel, with home games streamed live on the Sweets’ YouTube channel.
