Sweets Drop Finale in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, OR- The Walla Walla Sweets couldn’t finish the Springfield series with a win as the Drifters beat the Sweets 4-1 on Thursday evening. The Sweets move to 14-25 overall and 4-8 in the second half.
Walla Walla started strong as Kennedy Hara led off the game with a base hit. Following the leadoff knock, Hara didn’t wait long to come in to score as Ben Parker drove him in two at-bats later for his team-leading 25th RBI of the season. However, offensively this is where the Sweets Day ended.
In the bottom half of the first the Drifters answered in a huge way as Jaden Sheppard drilled a 2-run homer out to left as Springfield took the lead and would hold on for the remainder of the ball game.
Sweets by the Numbers
