Parker Named WCL Player of the Week

WALLA WALLA, WA- After an incredible week Walla Walla Sweets Outfielder Ben Parker has been named The West Coast League’s Moss Adams Player of the Week as announced by Commissioner Rob Neyer.

Last week, Parker went 13 for 21 in five games while scoring eight runs for the Sweets. He has been the Sweets’ top hitter this summer, with a .394 batting average,  which ranks 2nd in the WCL this season. With Walla Walla, Parker has appeared in 26 of the 30 games leading the team in home runs, RBIs, AVG, and SLG. On top of the .619 avg this week Parker also had hits in all five games played and only had one game without multiple hits.

The WCL Player of the Week honor adds on to the extensive resume for Parker, who was named to the ABCA’s All-America Second Team and earned fourth-team All-America honors for Whitman College after hitting .378 with 15 home runs. The grad transfer is set to continue his college career next season with William & Mary.
