You want to go to the game?! You want to go to the game?! Let’s go to the game June 8 – who’s a good boy?!

Associated Veterinary Medical Center of Walla Walla loves seeing puppies out and about - and ballgames are a great way to make that happen - "Dog Days" is back at Borleske!

When momma is happy, everyone is happy – so the saying goes. A close second could reasonably be “when puppy is happy, all is right with the world.”

A great tradition was started a few seasons back and has taken hold in the Walla Walla Valley, as Dog Days of Summer presented by Associated Veterinary Medical Center of Walla Walla is back for the 2019 season.

“With a new puppy in the home, I know our family is excited to have Holly experience her first Dog Days,” said Sweets general manager J.C. Biagi. “So many families are complete with their dog – and we are excited to see them all together at Borleske.”

Puppies will receive a great stadium giveaway at the gate, and the team is hoping to top the nearly 200 dogs that came in 2018.

“Each season, the number rises – which shows that we have started a tradition that speaks to our fans,” said team president Zachary Fraser, who will be glad to have Coda – the Fraser family dog – in the park.

New this season will be “Dog Concessions” – a pick-up location at the ballpark for dog treats. This concessions location will also have pick-up bags (so we can keep the ballpark clean) and information on AVMC services for animal lovers in the Valley. It will also be a chance to meet some of the docs and learn why they are so trusted for family animal care.

Why AVMC for the Sweets? Like the team, they are locally owned and operated. They engage in volunteer and service activities (like Rotary), and raise their families where they run their business. It’s a purr-fect (dogs, we know, but they take care of cats, too) fit for Walla Walla animal owners.

We can’t wait to go back to the ballpark!

The game isn’t just about a dog-park activity. Bounce houses from Jumpin’ Jelly Beanz will be there – for the “other” kids who need a break – cold, craft beer will be on tap, and the Sweets are playing the Bend Elks, a division rival. The Sweets are 8-4 versus the Elks at Borleske Stadium since 2015, and look to keep that success going.

Gates will open – for humans and canines – at 6:00 PM with first pitch at 7:05 PM.
