Walla Walla, Wash. – One of the most significant components to Sweets baseball is the impact the team has on the young athletes in the Valley. That continues for the 2018 season as the Sweets will once again host two youth baseball camps at Borleske Stadium.

“It’s one of the best things we do with the Sweets,” said Walla Walla manager Frank Mutz. “Being able to teach and impact the young ball players in our community is so important to our culture. With these camps, we are able to make a lasting impact on young athletes and create Sweets fans for life.”

Sweet Lou’s Skills Camp will be the first one to be held and will take place from June 25 through June 27. This camp is for athletes ages 5-to-9 and is perfect for your first-time player or little sprout.

The cost for Sweet Lou’s camp is $100 but discounts are available for multiple siblings who register together as well as YMCA members. The early bird 20% discount ends tomorrow, May 1, so register now to be eligible to receive it.

The Sweets Prospect Camp will be held from July 18 through July 21 and is for athletes ages 8-to-14. This camp will feature games every day, sliding practice (which is always a favorite), and is great for those looking for more specific instruction and fine-tuning of their game.

The cost for the Prospect Camp is $125 but discounts are available for multiple siblings who register together as well as YMCA members. The early bird discount is also available for those who register by June 1.

For both events campers will receive a t-shirt, a ticket to a Walla Walla Sweets home game, a new pair of baseball cleats donated by Miguel Colin from Country Financial, a pizza party on the last day of the camp, and of course instruction from some of the nation’s best baseball coaches and players.
