Vinny Capra is from Melbourne, Florida and is currently attending the University of Richmond.
He went to Melbourne Central Catholic High School and helped lead them to the 2013 Florida 3A State Championship. He was then named to the 2014 Florida All-State and All-Academic baseball teams.
The first two years of Capra's collegiate baseball career were spent with Eastern Florida State College and he excelled while there. His freshman year in 2015 he was named to the FCSAA Southern Conference second team with a .319 batting average, 27 runs scored and 12 RBI. Capra's sophomore year he was named to the FCSAA South Conference first team and hit .377 with 32 runs scored and 28 RBI.
Capra then transferred to the University of Richmond and was an immediate star for the Spiders. As a junior in 2017, he led the team in average (.355), hits (75) and runs (47) and was named to the All-Atlantic 10 second team.
Now a senior with Richmond, Capra is hitting .349 with 28 runs scored, 28 RBI, and 26 walks.
With the Sweets in 2017, he hit .291 with 30 runs scored, 26 RBI, and 25 walks.
