Travis Ulvestad is a native of Woodinville, Washington and played collegiately with Seattle University.
He went to Eastside Catholic High School and was a three-year varsity letter-winner for baseball while there. Over his final two seasons, he hit .293 with 30 RBI, 30 runs scored and was named to the All-Metro team both years. On the mound, he racked up a 3-0 record with a 2.80 ERA and 38 strikeouts in just 25 innings of work.
Out of high school Ulvestad first played with the University of San Francisco and appeared in 20 games. He finished the year with a 1-2 record with a 4.76 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 17 innings.
He then transferred to Bellevue Community College for his sophomore season and appeared in 15 games. He finished with a 1-1 record and a 4.58 ERA with 26 strikeouts over 19.2 innings.
Ulvestad moved on and played his final collegiate season with Seattle University. He saw limited time with the team appearing in just six games and throwing just 3.2 innings.
The righty hurler played two seasons with the Sweets, in the summer of 2015 and 2017. Over those two years, Ulvestad had 29 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched.
