Nick, an engineering major, is a sophomore-to-be at Northwest Nazarene University. He made 15 appearances for NNU this spring and composed a 3-1 record with two saves. Irwin threw 35.1 innings and amassed a nearly  3-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (20 K's and seven BB's).
Irwin's longest stint of the season was a four-inning effort in relief against Central Washington on May 2. He allowed just three hits, struck out two and walked one in a 4-1 Northwest Nazarene victory.
Nick, a graduate of Kennewick's Kamiakin High School,  was Baseball Northwest's MVP pitcher in 2015. Irwin's mother's name is Emily and dad’s name is Mat. He has an older sister named Samantha, and  two dogs. The family lives in Kennewick.  Nick roots for the Minnesota Vikings during the NFL season and the defending world champion Boston Red Sox when America's pastime is in full bloom.
