Daniel's top highlight of his 2019 season at Central Arizona Community College was a 2-for-6 effort with two runs scored in a 12-11 victory over Scottsdale on Feb. 28. The Vaqueros won the Western District crown and moved on to the JUCO World Series. Central Arizona closed the regular season with seven consecutive wins to earn the No. 4 spot in the Region 1 tournament. They surprised top-seeded Cochise in a best-of-three opening round set, then rallied from a one-game deficit to upend third-seeded Yavapai in the title series.
Cervantes hit .314 a season earlier, had an on-base percentage of .400, and slugged at a .568 clip for the Vaqueros - who finished third in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. He scored 27 runs, and registered six doubles, eight home runs and 28 RBI's in 42 games. CACC finished 25-11 in league, 45-13 overall, and reached the Division I Region I tournament.
Daniel, a native of Valencia, Calif., enjoys shrimp, steak, pasta and mashed potatoes, and can't do without television and a PS4.
