Eight Strong from Rogers Sends Sweets to Series Win
Haussin records four RBIs and first homer as Walla Walla stays hot north of the border

KELOWNA, B.C. (June 11, 2026) – The Walla Walla Sweets are heading farther north with another series win in hand.
Behind the longest start of Charles Rogers III’s career and a big night from Gaines Haussin, the Sweets beat the Kelowna Falcons 8-1 on Thursday night at Elks Stadium to take the series and close the first half of their Canadian road trip on a high note.
Rogers gave Walla Walla exactly what it needed on the mound. Making his third start of the summer, the right-hander worked a career-long eight innings, allowing just one run while striking out five and walking none. He scattered seven hits, kept the Falcons from building any kind of big inning and gave the Sweets a steady presence from the first pitch through the eighth.
Walla Walla gave him an early lead in the second inning. Trevor Tse and Gunner Geile both reached base, and Haussin brought them home with a two-run double to center field, putting the Sweets ahead 2-0.
Kelowna got one run back in the fourth, but the Sweets answered right away with a four-run fifth.
Isaac Torres reached to start the inning, and Sam Kane later brought him home with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1. The Sweets kept the pressure on from there, loading the bases for Geile, who cleared them with a three-run double to stretch the lead to 6-1.
That gave Rogers plenty of room to work, and he continued to roll through the middle and late innings.
Haussin added the loudest swing of the night in the eighth. After Austin Owens reached base, Haussin launched his first home run as a Sweet, a two-run shot that pushed the lead to 8-1 and capped a four-RBI night.
Haussin finished 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs. Geile added three RBIs of his own, while Owens reached base three times, doubled and stole two bases. Kane, Troy Osborne, Mateo Rickman and Torres also added hits as Walla Walla finished with nine as a team.
Jett Walker took over in the ninth and shut things down quickly, striking out the side to finish off the win.
The victory gives Walla Walla three straight series wins after taking two of three in Kelowna. The Sweets have now won seven of their last nine games after opening the season with back-to-back losses, continuing a strong early stretch under Manager Leo Rivera.
Walla Walla will keep the Canadian road trip rolling Friday, June 12, when it opens a three-game series against the Kamloops NorthPaws at Norbrock Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
