Sweets End 2025 Season With 4-2 Win Over Drifters
WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Sweets ended the 2025 season on a high note, defeating the Springfield Drifters 4–2 to take the series.

Starting pitcher Alex Figueroa made his first start of the season and delivered in front of a crowd of nearly 2,000. The right-hander went seven strong innings, allowing no earned runs and striking out five.
Walla Walla struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Cole Rogers reached on a throwing error, and Gunner Geile followed with a double to center to move him to third. Nikhil Beasley grounded out to the pitcher to bring home Rogers and give the Sweets a 1–0 lead.
Springfield responded in the third with a pair of unearned runs. Nick Gimino led off with a single, and Bryant Starr doubled to right to move the runners. A fielding error allowed Jack Brooks to score, and Nolan Miller followed with an RBI single to bring home Starr, giving the Drifters a 2–1 lead.
The Sweets answered in the fourth. Isaiah Chacon popped out to start the frame, but Jacob Talbot singled and later stole second. Berkley Reents then delivered a single to right to plate Talbot and tie the game 2–2. It marked Reents’ first RBI of the season.
In the seventh, Walla Walla took the lead for good. Reents was hit by a pitch but was caught stealing. With two outs, Rogers singled and stole second, and Trevor Tse walked. After a pitching change, Geile came through again with a go-ahead RBI single to center. Beasley reached on an error, allowing another run to score and giving the Sweets a 4–2 advantage.
Paxton Fenberg entered in the eighth and retired the side in order to preserve the lead.
Jacob Courtney closed out the game in the ninth and secured the save, stranding the tying run on base and sealing a 4–2 win in the final game of the season.
Walla Walla finishes 2025 with a 24–30 record, placing fifth in the South Division, four games back of a wild card berth.
