Every Starter Hits as Sweets Roll Past Corvallis
Walla Walla racks up 17 hits, scores double digits again and wins its fourth straight game

CORVALLIS, Ore. (July 17, 2026) – The Walla Walla Sweets carried their hot bats out of the All-Star break and straight into Goss Stadium on Friday night.
Every Sweets starter recorded a hit, Bo Stinson homered for the fourth time in four games, Austin Owens added an inside-the-park home run and Walla Walla beat the Corvallis Knights 10-5 in the series opener.
The win extended Walla Walla’s winning streak to four games and marked the Sweets’ third double-digit scoring performance during that stretch.
Walla Walla struck first in the third inning when Stinson continued his tear at the plate. The outfielder launched a solo home run to left field, giving the Sweets a 1-0 lead and marking his fourth homer in a four-game span.
Corvallis tied the game in the bottom half, but Walla Walla answered immediately in the fourth.
Royce Hale and Troy Osborne reached to begin the inning, and Stinson came through again with an RBI single to bring Hale home. Owens followed with one of the biggest swings of the night, driving a ball into play and racing all the way around for a two-run inside-the-park home run.
The homer was Owens’ third of the summer and the Sweets’ second inside-the-park home run of the season, pushing Walla Walla ahead 4-1.
The Sweets added two more in the fifth. Trevor Tse and Gage Reeser both reached and later scored on wild pitches, extending the lead to 6-1.
Corvallis picked up a run in the bottom of the fifth, but Trevor Stowe kept Walla Walla in control.
Stowe turned in his best outing of the summer, working six innings and allowing only two runs on five hits. He struck out five, walked one and earned his second win of the season.
The Sweets created separation in the seventh with another big inning.
Tse singled and Reeser walked before Sam Kane lined an RBI single to score Tse. Hale then walked to load the bases, and Osborne delivered a two-run single to bring home Reeser and Kane.
Stinson followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring Hale and giving Walla Walla a 10-2 lead.
Corvallis scored twice in the seventh and once in the eighth, but the Sweets’ lead held the rest of the way.
Stinson finished 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and a sacrifice fly. Over his last four games, he has hit four home runs and continued to be one of the hottest bats in the Walla Walla lineup.
Owens went 3-for-5 with the inside-the-park home run and two RBIs, giving the Sweets production from the bottom of the order.
Gunner Geile also had three hits, including a double, while Tse, Hale and Osborne each recorded two-hit nights. Osborne drove in two runs, Hale scored twice and Reeser reached three times with a double, two walks and two runs scored.
Kane added an RBI single, and Payton Knowles also reached twice as Walla Walla finished with 17 hits.
All nine Sweets starters recorded at least one hit, and six different players finished with multiple hits.
Andrew Cohen, Carson Waples, and Jacob Chandler covered the final three innings out of the bullpen. Waples made his Sweets debut while Chandler closed the night with a scoreless ninth, working around a hit to finish off the win.
The win kept the Sweets rolling after entering the All-Star break with a sweep of Yakima Valley. Walla Walla has now scored 10 or more runs in three of its last four games and has won four straight overall.
The Sweets continue the series against the Knights on Saturday, July 18, at Goss Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
