10-Day and First Half Contracts Add Depth to 2026 Roster

Five players, including a returning outfielder, highlight final group of roster additions

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A group of five players in Andrew Demianew, Trace Green, DJ Kauahi, Oscar Knapp, and Adiel Torres are set to take the field for the Walla Walla Sweets during the 2026 West Coast League season as part of the club’s 10-day and first half contracts.

Demianew returns to Walla Walla after appearing in 32 games for the Sweets last summer. The Pendleton, Oregon native recorded 26 hits and eight RBIs while drawing 16 walks, continuing to build experience following his time at Linn-Benton Community College. Now at Eastern Oregon University, Demianew is looking forward to reuniting with a familiar teammate this summer.

“I am excited to play with Easton Corey,” Demianew said. “We played in high school together, at JUCO together, and now at EOU together. This summer he is also playing for the Sweets.”

Green adds another arm to the pitching staff as a sophomore at Walla Walla Community College. The Lewiston, Idaho native, who graduated from Clarkston High School, was introduced to the game by his father and is eager to compete against high-level talent this summer.

“The thing I’m most excited about is traveling around and playing good competition,” Green said.

Kauahi, a freshman right-handed pitcher at Bushnell University, brings a strong personal connection to the game. The Nānākuli, Hawaii native credits his father for shaping both his career and his life, and is looking forward to experiencing a new team environment this summer.

“My dad got me into baseball,” Kauahi said. “He has shaped my entire career and life in more ways than I could imagine. I’m excited to meet new teammates and see what it’s like playing for the Sweets.”

Knapp offers versatility as both a left-handed pitcher and first baseman. Now a junior at Biola University, the Santa Cruz, California native was introduced to baseball at a young age and is looking forward to the travel and team experience that comes with summer ball.

“My dad took me to a Giants game as a little kid and got me into baseball,” Knapp said. “I’m most excited to travel to places I’ve never been and hang out with my teammates.”

Torres rounds out the group as an outfielder from San Diego, California who also competes at Biola. A Bonita Vista High School graduate, Torres is eager for a new opportunity and the chance to connect with teammates from across different programs.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to play somewhere new and connect with new people,” Torres said.

Demianew, Green, Kauahi, Knapp, and Torres will join the Sweets for West Coast League action, with Walla Walla opening the 2026 season on the road against the Yakima Valley Pippins on May 29 before hosting the Corvallis Knights at Borleske Stadium on June 2.
