Experience and Newcomers Join the Sweets
Walla Walla welcomes two returning players and a pair of newcomers to Borleske

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A pair of returners in Nakoa Moses-Gomera and Landon Young, along with newcomers Gaines Haussin and Bo Stinson, are set to take the field for the Walla Walla Sweets during the 2026 West Coast League season.
Haussin brings a steady developmental path to Walla Walla after spending his entire collegiate career at Cumberland University. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native worked his way from a development role into a starting position by his sophomore season and now contributes across the infield at second, third, and shortstop.
“I chose Cumberland because they are a competitive NAIA school and knew I could develop there,” Haussin said. “My path has been a little bit different from many. I started on a development team and worked my way into a starting role. I’m most excited to experience a new part of the country and see how I compete against different talent.”
Few players are more familiar with the Sweets than Moses-Gomera, who returns for his third season in Walla Walla. The right-handed pitcher from Kapolei, Hawaii made 13 appearances last summer, including six starts, logging 41.1 innings while continuing to build experience on the mound.
“I’m most excited for the competition we’re able to face, but on a deeper level I’m really excited about the connections I’m able to make with new players and coaches from various colleges,” Moses-Gomera said.
Stinson adds both experience and baseball lineage to the roster. Now a junior at Lewis-Clark State College, the Tigard, Oregon native previously spent two seasons at Pierce College and comes from a family deeply rooted in the game, with both his father and grandfather having played professionally.
“I chose LCSC because they have a history of winning championships and molding people into great players and great human beings,” Stinson said.
Young returns to the Sweets after previously spending time in Walla Walla, now continuing his development at the University of Washington. The redshirt freshman infielder from Redlands, California is eager to build on that experience and compete under new leadership this summer.
“I’m excited to run back my second year in Walla Walla under Leo Rivera as the head coach now and win some games with the boys for the town of Walla Walla,” Young said.
Haussin, Moses-Gomera, Stinson, and Young will join the Sweets for West Coast League action, with Walla Walla opening the 2026 season on the road against the Yakima Valley Pippins on May 29 before hosting the Corvallis Knights at Borleske Stadium on June 2.
