Saint Francis trio joins Biola returner Jacob Talbott for 2026 campaign

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Three University of Saint Francis right-handed pitchers in Curtis Ellis, Carson Hunter, and Perry Stow, along with returning Biola utility player Jacob Talbott, are set to take the field for the Walla Walla Sweets during the 2026 West Coast League season.
Ellis, a junior right-handed pitcher at the University of Saint Francis, brings a well-traveled path to Walla Walla. The Bluffton, Indiana native began his collegiate career at Muskegon Community College before spending a season at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, ultimately continuing his development with the Cougars.
Carson Hunter joins the Sweets from Saint Francis as a redshirt sophomore right-hander out of Convoy, Ohio. A graduate of Crestview Local School, Hunter was drawn to the program’s strong culture and is looking forward to competing in front of the Walla Walla crowd this summer.
“I chose Saint Francis because of the family feeling from the coaching staff and the culture of the program and players before me,” Hunter said. “I am most excited for meeting new people and teammates and playing in front of the Walla Walla community.”
Another Saint Francis arm, Perry Stow, adds experience to the staff as a redshirt junior from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Stow, a South Side High School product, credits his father for introducing him to the game and is eager to compete for a championship this summer.
“My dad got me into baseball,” Stow said. “I’m most excited to compete for a WCL championship and to spend time with the guys on the team.”
Returning to Walla Walla is Jacob Talbott, who contributed both on the mound and at the plate last summer. The Biola sophomore from Yorba Linda, California appeared in 12 games as a pitcher while also recording 18 hits and 10 RBIs across 25 games, showcasing his versatility.
“I’m excited to make new friends, see new places, and play some baseball,” Talbott said.
Ellis, Hunter, Stow, and Talbott will join the Sweets for West Coast League action, with Walla Walla opening the 2026 season on the road against the Yakima Valley Pippins on May 29 before hosting the Corvallis Knights at Borleske Stadium on June 2.
