Fresh Faces and a Familiar Arm Join the Roster
Players from four different programs make up the latest additions to the 2026 roster

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Tucker Biehl, Ethan Buckley, Alex Figueroa, and Ronan Scoffield are set to take the field for the Walla Walla Sweets during the 2026 West Coast League season.
Biehl, a redshirt junior infielder from Carlsbad, California, brings versatility across the infield. A product of Sage Creek High School, Biehl plays shortstop, second base, and third base for the University of Akron. He credits his family for introducing him to the game and is looking forward to experiencing the Pacific Northwest for the first time this summer.
“My parents got me into baseball at a young age and sparked that love for the game very early,” Biehl said. “I am most excited to meet new people and to be in the West Coast again. I have never been to Washington or Oregon and I have heard nothing but good things about both states so I am very excited to get out there.”
Joining him is Ethan Buckley, a catcher and first baseman from Cape Town, South Africa who currently plays at Central Washington University. Buckley has previous experience in the West Coast League, having spent time with the Wenatchee AppleSox, Springfield Drifters, and Yakima Valley Pippins. He is especially looking forward to reuniting with Sweets head coach Leo Rivera, whom he previously played for during Rivera’s time with the Springfield Drifters.
“My dad first got me into baseball. He played, so I essentially grew up on the field and always loved the game,” Buckley said. “I’m most excited to play for Coach Rivera this summer. I got to play for him my sophomore year with the Springfield Drifters when it was his first year coaching, so I’m super excited to see him in a head coaching role.”
Returning to Walla Walla is right-handed pitcher Alex Figueroa, a junior at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The Tucson, Arizona native made 16 appearances for the Sweets last summer, posting a 4–2 record with a 3.00 ERA across 33 innings while recording two saves. His path through college baseball has included stops at Cochise College and Utah Valley before continuing his career at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
“I chose Northwestern Oklahoma State because it gave me another opportunity to keep playing and developing, and I’m really grateful for that,” Figueroa said. “Last summer I played for the Walla Walla Sweets, and toward the end of the summer I was fortunate to get another opportunity to continue playing and developing for another year.”
Rounding out the group is Ronan Scoffield, an outfielder from Kirkland, Washington who is committed to Washington State University for the 2026–27 academic year. Currently finishing his senior year at Juanita High School, Scoffield is a left-handed hitter capable of playing both center and left field.
“My dad first got me into baseball when I was super young,” Scoffield said. “I’m most excited to make new buddies and most of all compete against other great players.”
Biehl, Buckley, Figueroa, and Scoffield will join the Sweets for West Coast League action, with Walla Walla opening the 2026 season on the road against the Yakima Valley Pippins on May 29 before hosting the Corvallis Knights at Borleske Stadium on June 2.
