Redhawks Trio and GCU Arm Head to Walla Walla
Pacific Northwest talent and GCU pitching depth headline latest additions

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Seattle University trio Royce Hale, Isaac Hallam, and Quade Gonzalez IV, along with Grand Canyon University freshman Andrew Cohen, are set to take the field for the Walla Walla Sweets during the 2026 West Coast League season.
Hale, a junior utility player from Marysville, Washington, brings versatility and experience to the Sweets lineup. A Marysville Pilchuck High School graduate who primarily plays first base but can also contribute in the outfield, Hale spent last summer in the West Coast League with the Edmonton Riverhawks, batting .278 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in the regular season. During the 2025 collegiate season with Seattle U, Hale delivered a standout performance with two home runs and three RBIs in a win over Western Oregon on April 18.
Joining him from Seattle is right-handed pitcher Isaac Hallam, who returns to Walla Walla after appearing in eight games for the Sweets last summer. The Issaquah, Washington native logged 27.1 innings and recorded 26 strikeouts during his time with the club. As a freshman with the Redhawks, Hallam made 15 starts and delivered several impressive outings, including six innings with eight strikeouts and just two hits allowed against Pacific, followed by a seven-strikeout performance against Coppin State.
“I am most excited to meet new guys and play baseball at a competitive level,” Hallam said.
Also representing Seattle University is Quade Gonzalez IV, a right-handed pitcher from Othello, Washington who is committed to join the Redhawks next season. Currently finishing his senior year at Othello High School, Gonzalez has shown the ability to generate swings and misses with a fastball that reaches the low 90s along with two distinct breaking balls.
“I first got into baseball when my dad was coaching high school ball and he would take me with him to games and practices,” Gonzalez said. “I am most excited to play a lot of baseball and to win a lot of games.”
Rounding out the group is Andrew Cohen, a freshman right-handed pitcher from Studio City, California. A Loyola High School graduate, Cohen helped lead his team to the playoffs as a senior in 2025 and chose Grand Canyon University after committing late in his final high school season.
“I chose GCU because of the great Phoenix weather and the beautiful campus and facilities along with it having a great baseball program,” Cohen said. “My dad and the Red Sox first got me into baseball as we watched games together every day growing up.”
Hale, Hallam, Gonzalez, and Cohen will join the Sweets for West Coast League action, with Walla Walla opening the 2026 season on the road against the Yakima Valley Pippins on May 29 before hosting the Corvallis Knights at Borleske Stadium on June 2.
