Power Bats Return, CMU Talent Joins Sweets
Two 2025 home run leaders return alongside Colorado Mesa newcomers for 2026 campaign

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Returning standouts Nikhil Beasley and Trevor Tse, along with Colorado Mesa University newcomers Isaac Torres and Jett Walker, are set to join the Walla Walla Sweets for West Coast League action this summer.
Beasley, a catcher from Berkeley, California, returns to Walla Walla after appearing in 32 games last summer. The Sacramento State redshirt sophomore batted .268 with 13 RBIs and finished second on the team with four home runs, seeing the most playing time of any catcher on the roster.
“I am most excited about getting back to Walla Walla especially after the summer I had last year. It’s a super cool environment and the fans are the best on the west coast,” Beasley said. “I absolutely love the field and the community, as well as how close our team is. There is no place like Walla Walla to play summer ball and I am super excited to be back for another summer.”
Joining him in his return is Trevor Tse, a Poway, California native who led the Sweets in games played and putout assists last season. The Colorado Mesa redshirt freshman batted .270 with 17 RBIs and was tied for top three on the team in home runs. Tse chose CMU for its championship-level expectations and credits his father for pushing him to grow both on and off the field.
“CMU has been a dominant program over the years. I wanted to go to a school that was going to compete for a national championship every single year,” Tse said. “My dad was the first person to push me into baseball. He was the best coach I’ve had and he’d constantly push me to be a better player and person every day. The atmosphere every single game was electric. The fans bring so much energy every single home game, and after last year it left me wanting more. On top of that, I know the coaching staff is going to show up every day trying to get us better.”
Adding to the Colorado Mesa presence is Isaac Torres, a junior outfielder from Bakersfield, California. After two seasons at Bakersfield College, Torres hit .371 his sophomore year with 10 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 31 RBIs, and seven stolen bases before continuing his career at CMU.
“I’m most excited about this summer with the Sweets because it’s going to be my first time playing summer ball and experiencing it,” Torres said.
Rounding out the group is Jett Walker, a medical redshirt freshman from Cedar Hills, Utah. A right-handed pitcher who can also contribute in the infield, Walker was ranked the No. 2 shortstop in Utah by Perfect Game prior to graduating from American Fork High School.
“I chose Mesa for the winning culture and the development from the coaches,” Walker said.
Beasley, Tse, Torres, and Walker will join the Sweets for West Coast League action, with Walla Walla opening the 2026 season on the road against the Yakima Valley Pippins on May 29 before hosting the Corvallis Knights at Borleske Stadium on June 2.
