Sweets Introduce New Broadcaster for 2026
Bellingham native steps into Media Relations Manager and Play-by-Play role for the 2026 season

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla Sweets have announced the hiring of Brad Whitman as the team’s Media Relations Manager and Lead Play-by-Play Broadcaster for the 2026 season.
Whitman will oversee all aspects of the Sweets’ media operations, including game broadcasts, written coverage, and digital content creation throughout the summer. He will serve as the lead voice on all Sweets broadcasts and manage the club’s day-to-day communications and media outreach.
A native of Bellingham, Washington, Whitman joins the organization with emerging collegiate broadcasting experience in Southern California. He currently serves as a play-by-play commentator for Cal State Dominguez Hills and Whittier College, where he has covered soccer, volleyball, basketball, and water polo, and will expand his coverage to include baseball during the upcoming spring season. In addition to his on-air work, he contributes written content and player features for athletic communications departments at both institutions.
For Whitman, the opportunity to take the microphone for a West Coast League franchise marks an important step in his broadcasting journey.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the Sweets organization,” Whitman said. “Getting to call baseball every day while telling the stories of players, coaches, and fans is something I’ve always dreamed of. Walla Walla has such an awesome baseball community, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
He added that Walla Walla’s community and fan base make the position even more meaningful.
“There’s a real passion for baseball in Walla Walla,” he said. “It’s a city that seems to love the game, and I can’t wait to be part of bringing that energy to life at Borleske Stadium this summer.”
In his new role, Whitman will lead written coverage for the Sweets, assist with social media coordination, and support community and promotional initiatives throughout the season.
The 2026 West Coast League schedule has been released, with additional information on tickets and promotions to be announced later this offseason.
