Sweets Swept by Raptors in 5-0 Loss
WALLA WALLA, Wash. — In the last road game of the season the Sweets were swept by the Ridgefield Raptors in a 5-0 defeat.

In the first inning the Sweets threatened with runners on the corners but could not close the deal in a scoreless top of the first.
In the home half the Raptors got going right away. Taylor Takata opened up with a walk, then advanced to third on Cooper Whitton’s single. Takata then came home on Andrew Estrella’s groundout to short to put the Raptors up 1–0.
In the bottom of the third the Raptors added another solo run. With the top of the batting order up yet again Taylor Takata walked and moved to second on Cooper Whitton’s sacrifice bunt. Moments later, Andrew Estrella singled to bring Takata home, pushing the lead to 2–0.
From there the scoreboard froze. Sweets starter Nakoa Moses-Gomera finished his day allowing just two runs on three base hits and six strikeouts. Moses-Gomera now leads the Sweets with over 40 innings pitched on the season.
On the other end of the pitching duel Raptors starter Zach Todd dealt. Through five and two thirds Todd did not give up a run with eight strikeouts. The sweets mustered just three base hits and two walks against Todd.
In the seventh inning the Raptors capitalized on a bases loaded opportunity. Jackson Upton led off with a single and moved to second on Taylor Takata’s sacrifice bunt. Cooper Whitton walked, and though Andrew Estrella struck out, Dawson Downs also walked to load the bases.
Dylan Osborne then delivered the big blow with a double down the line, clearing the bases as Upton, Whitton and Downs all scored. Osborne was thrown out trying to advance to third, but the damage was done, and the Raptors extended their lead to 5-0.
Walla Walla could not scrape across a run and the game ended as the Raptors finished off the Sweets 5-0 for the series sweep.
