Sweets Eliminated From Playoffs After 14-3 Loss Against Raptors
WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Sweets were knocked out of playoff contention as the Ridgefield Raptors beat Walla Walla 14-3.

From the start, Walla Walla jumped out early with a pair of runs. Cole Rogers led off with a double and came home on Nikhil Beasley’s RBI single after a single by Trevor Tse moved Rogers to third. Owen Estabrook was then hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Chris Tsouras grounded into a double play, but Tse scored to make it 2-0. The Sweets threatened again after Gunner Geile was hit by a pitch and Tristan Schaefer walked, but Brooks Fischer grounded out to first with the bases loaded to end the inning.
In the bottom half, the Raptors responded. Taylor Takata reached on an error by the shortstop, and Cooper Whitton singled to keep the line moving. After Andrew Estrella walked to load the bases, Dawson Downs drew another walk to force in Takata for an unearned run.
Dylan Osborne then reached on another error, scoring Whitton and keeping the bases loaded. Ryan Camacho worked a walk to bring home Estrella. Finally, a ground ball from Ervin Dorsett led to the first two outs of the inning but still scored Downs to make it 4-2. A passed ball allowed one more run to touch home plate as the Sweets trailed 5-2.
In the third inning, with two on, Jovan Camacho came through with a double to left-center, scoring his brother Ryan Camacho to make it 6-2. Sweets starter Ben Reimers worked out of the jam, giving up just the one run.
In the fourth, Paxton Fenberg took over on the mound for the Sweets. Ridgefield scored once more to extend the lead to 7-2, but it was the bottom of the fifth where the Raptors really broke it open.
Ervin Dorsett reached on an error to start the inning, and Jake Lockwood singled to move him up. Jovan Camacho added another single to load the bases, and Taylor Takata followed with an RBI single to score Dorsett.
Moments later, Whitton singled to right, bringing in Lockwood and Camacho to make it 9-2. Estrella then launched a three-run homer to right-center, clearing the bases and pushing the lead to 12-2. After the home run, Lockwood ripped a double to center, scoring two more to cap the inning at 14-2.
In the top of the seventh, the Sweets finally got back on the board as Tsouras homered to right field for his first of the season. That proved to be all the Sweets could muster in a 14-3 loss.
With the defeat, the Sweets are officially eliminated from postseason contention. The series finale between the Sweets and the Raptors is tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. Fans can catch the broadcast on the Walla Walla Sweets Mixlr channel starting at 12:55.
