Sweets fall in extras vs Corvallis
WALLA WALLA, WA- The Walla Walla Sweets fought for a season high 13 innings however Corvallis extended and tied a league best win streak to 11 straight defeating the Sweets 11-8 in extras. With the loss, the Sweets move to 14-27 overall and 4-10 in the second half.
Corvallis kicked off the scoring by going up 2-0 with runs scored in the top of the third and fourth. However Walla Walla answered with there first punch of the evening as Aidan Espinoza drove in Ben Parker with a RBI double which was followed by Hayden Driggs driving in Espinoza due to a fielding error.

Corvallis then followed with a four run top of the fifth which was again answered by the Sweets. Ben Parker lined a ball 357 feet to left field driving in three runs to cut the lead to one in the bottom of the inning. Walla Walla tied things up moments later as Cayden Wotipka scored on another Corvallis error making it 6-6 after five.

Both teams traded runs however Walla Walla lead going into the top of the ninth but the Knights countered with the tying run in the inning.
Otho Savage came in to work in the ninth and got the Sweets through extra innings however didn’t get help offensively as the Sweets left the winning runs stranded in 11th, 12th, and 13th.
The Knights powered by three runs in the top of the ninth and walked out with a win to extend a league best winning streak to 11 games.
