Sweets Spoil Canada Day For Kelowna With Game One Win

Sweets take game one of the series with the Falcons

WALLA WALLA, Wash- The Walla Walla Sweets were able to take down their neighbors from the north in the Kelowna Falcons 7-4 on Friday night. Sweets were able to get back to .500 with the win.

The Sweets were led by another gem by Andrew Baughn who pitched five scoreless innings while only allowing one hit. Baughn’s day would end probably the best way one could ask for, which was by his seventh strike out. His seventh strikeout of the contest came against his brother Matt who plays for Kelowna.

The Sweets would find offense in the third inning as with the bases loaded first Cooper Cross would score Joey Craig, then Jordan Andrade would walk in Malcolm Williams. Davis Mieliwocki would help score Mazzaferro on a fielders choice play. Finally, Cooper Cross would score on a wild pitch.

The Sweets would hold the lead the whole way through and take game one of the series 7-4. Game two of the set is scheduled for tomorrow at 7:05 pm
