Sweets Record First Shutout of The Season vs Springfield

Sweets Take Game 2 vs Springfield 1-0.

SPRINGFIELD, OR- The Walla Walla Sweets were able to take game two of the series vs the Drifters to end their three-game losing streak on Saturday.  The Sweets would also record their first shutout of the year as they would defeat Springfield 1-0.

Cameron Scudder would have his best outing of the year going five shutout innings with four strikeouts, only allowing three hits.  Scudder would get the win in his longest outing of the season, previously not going more than three.

The Sweets offensively struggled again only putting up one run. Walla Walla has now been outscored 26-13 in the last four contest.

The Sweets lone run of the game would be scored by Cooper Cross who came in to score thanks to Will Fuenning who was able to get back on track with a one for three outing with a base hit and a walk. Fuenning had his 12 game on base streak snapped in game one vs Springfield but was able to reach safely twice in game two.

The Sweets get set for the finale tomorrow as they try to get back to .500 sitting now at 8-9.
