A Message from the Walla Walla Sweets
During the challenges currently facing the world, team and league remain committed to all constituents
Over the past weeks, our lives have quickly changed because of the COVID-19 virus that our city, our state, our nation, and the world is struggling to deal with. Our priority during this time is the health and safety of all members of Sweets Baseball, from our staffs to our players, coaches, our fans, host families, and business partners. Each of these groups has helped build and support the Sweets over the past 10 years in Walla Walla.
The Sweets remain committed to Walla Walla and its amazing community. We also remain committed to playing West Coast League Baseball this summer at Borleske Stadium — but only when safe to do so, and in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. We will continue to monitor the developing situation and respond accordingly.
We share the disappointment with all local high school and collegiate athletes who won’t be able to play the sports they love and have been committed to for most of their lives. We are looking forward to soon seeing them on the playing field again.
The Sweets urge residents to follow local, state, and federal guidelines to not only keep yourselves safe, but to keep your families and neighbors safe as well. Wash your hands. Use hand sanitizer. Practice social distancing. Be patient with each other. And look out for one another.
We are in this together. We will get through this together. In doing so, we will be able to return to our daily lives with friends and families at the places we love here in Walla Walla. We can’t wait to see everyone again.
