Bio: Huskey is currently the Assistant Sports Information Director and voice of the Ave Maria Gyrenes, a NAIA university in Southwest Florida. Along with keeping stats, writing game recaps, creating promotional materials, and video editing, Huskey has called over 100 broadcasts for the Gyrenes in football, soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, and ultimate frisbee in his first two years. Huskey also oversees and teaches a group of students on how to run a professional broadcast. This is Huskey’s second stint in summer ball, having been the main broadcaster for the Seminole County Snappers out of the Florida Collegiate Summer League in 2022. Huskey has also called a handful of games for the Stillman Tigers, an NAIA school in Alabama, and worked as a media intern for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Huskey graduated from the University of Alabama in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in communication and information sciences with a concentration in sports media. While a student, Huskey worked for both the student radio and commercial television stations, serving as the sports director his junior year for the radio station, 90.7 the Capstone.
