Falcons Fly Past Sweets

Denver Chavez went 1-4, and scored on a Christian Ramirez double in the 6th inning.
The Walla Walla Sweets returned home after a three-game road trip to face the visiting Kelowna Falcons at Borleske Stadium. Walla Walla came into tonight’s game looking to snap a 2 game losing streak.

Despite a solid showing on both ends of the bat from the Sweets, a huge 9th inning from Kelowna was just too much for Walla Walla to overcome. A clutch RBI single from Falcons’ right fielder Tyler Chism (Gonzaga) with 2 outs started a run for his team, eventually putting the Sweets away 5-2.

Christian Ramirez (UC Irvine) led the Sweets on the offensive end tonight going 1 for 3 from the plate with an RBI double. Ramirez came into tonight’s game batting .271 with 6 RBI’s on the season, and 1 HR.

Local pitcher Ryan Richardson (WWCC) started and had an impressive night on the mound tonight, despite his team losing. Richardson threw a total of 116 pitches in 6 innings, with 81 strikes, and 25 balls.
