Sweets Announce Showcase Game Roster

The Walla Walla Sweets begin their 59-game regular season schedule when they host the Wenatchee AppleSox on Opening Day presented by Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Walla Walla on June 2nd at Borleske Stadium. While the focus is clearly on prepping for the march towards a WCL title, fans looking to get an early glimpse at this year’s club will also be able to support the development of youth baseball in the Valley with the Sweets Showcase Game

The exhibition contest will be held at Borleske Stadium on Tuesday, May 30th. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Members of the Sweets’ opening day roster will compete against a select group of high school all-stars representing the Walla Walla area. The mix of prep players, which includes six seniors and eight juniors representing five different high schools, will compete in a controlled scrimmage against the Sweets as we gear up for opening night.  The net proceeds for the event will be donated to Walla Walla Valley Youth Baseball & Softball, the area non-profit that focuses on providing young men and women a chance to play baseball and softball.

Half the players represent Walla Walla High School, who defeated Gonzaga Prep last week to capture their first regional title since 2015.
