Job Opportunities

walla walla jobs, work walla walla, washington jobs

The 2017 Season...is just around the corner. We are starting to accept applications to be a part of the 2017 Sweets team at Borleske Stadium and the Sweets Shoppe now. Some of the positions are now open for application. If you don't see what you are interested in doing, please check back soon as we will start posting openings regularly.

That means that hard-working, energetic and attention-to-detail types are who we want to work with. Whether it is your first job, or a fun, seasonal way to earn a little extra cash for the year...we want you to help entertain over 40,000 fans this coming season in the heart of summer entertainment.

A few things to know before you apply:

  1. We work primarily in the evenings. Most shifts will begin after 3 PM. We work for 4-6 days in a row, and then the team is on the road for 4-6 days (which means you are not likely to get many hours when the team is gone). Most shifts will average between 2.5 - 4 hours a night.
  2. There is light to moderate physical activity, including some lifting (not usually more than 20 lbs.). It can be hot during the late afternoon, although we are lucky to have those perfect Walla Walla summer nights.
  3. We try not to over-hire. That way you get more hours. That also means you need to be dependable and consistent. Missing shifts/games or not being ready to work hard means that we can't continue to have you be part of the team.
  4. You need to want to have fun. Our members, our fans, our customers come to baseball games because it is fun - YOU are part of that experience.
  5. You need to be able to work key dates in the summer, including the following dates (for the 2017 season): Tuesday, May 30 | Friday, June 2 | Monday July 3 and Tuesday July 4 (morning) | Sunday, August 6

Here are some Current Openings that we will have for the season, along with an idea of what they will pay (here is the scale: $ - minimum wage $$ - better $$$ - even better):

Key Attributes: Attention to detail, passion for a great customer experience, appreciation of a clean and organized workspace, capable of creatively resolving concerns even if every resource you need isn't immediately available, strong ethical considerations as you will handle cash and credit card transaction information

This position is fun and not for the faint of heart. Despite its seasonality, you are part of making sure the busiest restaurant in the Walla Walla Valley each night the team is playing (you and your team will serve 2,200 customers on sold-out nights, and an average of 1,300 customers over a 3-hour period) is working well each and every night. We are looking for someone with enough desire and work ethic to see what we've done well and make it better, and see where we need help and go get it fixed.

The work flow consists of seasonal hours in May getting the concession stands ready for the season and training staff. The work load increases from June - August with 32 games (plus the potential of playoffs). It winds down in September and October with clean-up, winterization, and Wa-Hi football.
